How to climb out of Iron and Bronze in LoL

Five simple habits that make the difference in League of Legends’ low elo.

In Iron and Bronze, hardly anyone loses because of mechanics: games are lost to the same mistakes repeated over and over. Fixing a few habits is enough to start winning consistently.

1. Play few champions

Pick two or three champions in one role and only play those. Knowing their combos, limits and matchups is worth more than trying the whole roster.

2. Out-farm your opponent

Each wave is roughly 125 gold. Reaching 6 minions per minute gives you an edge even without kills. Practice in Practice Tool: 10 minutes, farming only.

3. Watch the minimap

Get used to glancing at it every few seconds. If all five enemies are missing, play safe: someone is coming for you.

4. Play for objectives

Games are won with towers, dragons and Baron, not kills. After winning a fight, push a tower or take an objective instead of just recalling.

5. Mute the chat

Arguing doesn’t win games. Muting everyone (/mute all) helps you focus on what you do control.
